Early Intervention

Support at the start makes all the difference.

Some learning challenges don’t fully reveal themselves until later, but others show signs much earlier, often before a child even starts elementary school. The earlier we notice and respond to these signs, the better the long-term outcome—not just academically, but socially and emotionally, too.

Early intervention helps children build foundational skills before gaps grow wider, frustration sets in, and self-esteem is affected. It’s a proactive approach that gives families and educators the tools they need to support a child’s learning from the very beginning.

Why Early Intervention Matters

Far too often, schools follow a “wait to fail” approach providing intervention only after a child has fallen significantly behind. But children benefit most when support begins before they’re struggling to keep up.

Early intervention can help:

  • Detect Dyslexia using the FAR (Feifer Assessment of Reading)

  • Prevent long-term academic struggles

  • Address behavioral challenges before they escalate

  • Reduce anxiety and frustration around learning

  • Build confidence in emerging skills

  • Improve emotional and social development

  • Give parents and educators clear strategies for support

Whether your child is in preschool, kindergarten, or just starting to show early signs of difficulty, early support can change the trajectory of their entire learning journey.

What Rosaura Teaches in Early Intervention

Rosaura works with young learners in Pre-K through early elementary grades, using multisensory strategies to help children build core learning skills in a way that feels encouraging and engaging.

Her sessions support the development of:

Pre-Academic & Motor Readiness
  • Drawing and fine motor control

  • Hand dominance and pre-writing skills

  • Understanding of lines, curves, directionality (vertical, horizontal, circle, across lines)

Literacy Foundations
  • Letter recognition and alphabet knowledge

  • Print concepts (left to right, top to bottom)

  • Phonemic awareness and phonics

  • Sight word recognition

  • Early decoding and reading fluency

  • Vocabulary development and story comprehension

Early Math Skills
  • Counting and number sense

  • Writing numbers clearly and correctly

  • Understanding patterns and basic math concepts

How It Works

Each child’s learning profile is unique, which is why Rosaura tailors her early intervention sessions to the needs of each individual student. She begins with formal and informal assessments and ongoing observations, then develops a structured plan that supports both academic readiness and emotional confidence.

Sessions are available in person or virtually via Zoom, depending on the family’s preference. Rosaura also works closely with parents and caregivers to provide guidance on how to reinforce new skills at home.

Who Early Intervention Is For

  • Preschool and kindergarten students showing signs of difficulty with early learning

  • Children struggling with fine motor skills, speech development, or letter/number recognition

  • Parents seeking support before their child enters school or during the first years

  • Educators who have concerns about a student’s readiness for academic demands

  • Families who want to take a proactive approach instead of waiting for testing or diagnosis

Early support builds more than academic skills. It builds confidence, self-awareness, and the belief that learning can be joyful.
